Huawei has officially announced a new smartphone featuring an unconventional form factor, designated as the Pura X View. The device introduces an updated design approach with a wider aspect ratio, an ultra-slim profile and is the first to run on HarmonyOS 7. At a first glance, it looks like a Pura X unfolded.
Departing from the tall aspect ratios common in conventional bar phones, the Pura X View adopts a wider 16:9.5 aspect ratio, closely mirroring the cover screen format of foldable flagships like the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
The front panel features an OLED display with a resolution of 1320 x 2232 pixels, ultra-thin 1.05 mm bezels, a 91% screen-to-body ratio, and peak brightness reaching up to 6,500 nits. Despite integrating a large 7,000 mAh battery, the chassis measures just 6.68 mm in thickness with an overall weight of 201 grams.
Hardware and Availability
The phone is equipped with 12 GB of RAM and internal storage configurations spanning 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB. On the rear, the handset houses a horizontal, pill-shaped module containing a triple camera setup. Huawei will offer the model in four colorways: wine red, white, black, and gray.
The Pura X View is currently open for pre-orders on Huawei’s official online store in China. The price has not been disclosed yet, but the device will be offered in 4 different shades: Black, Red, Gold and White. Unofficial leaks suggest the display measures 6.39 inches, driven by a Kirin 9030s processor, alongside three 50 MP rear sensors.
