iphone_space_blackEver since the iPhone 5s, Apple has opted to do away with the solid black option for the iPhone. Instead the company introduced a space grey variant which we guess is the next closest thing. However recent rumors have suggested that the space black color option could be making a return, and now a leaked component might have “confirmed” it.

In a post on Twitter by @The_Malignant (via iClarified), a couple of photos were uploaded that showed the alleged mute button that belongs to the iPhone 7. Now from what we can tell from the photo, it certainly looks like the iPhone’s mute button, and the finish of the button certainly suggests that it will be in black.

However this component could belong to just about any device. It could also be photoshopped for all we know, meaning that this isn’t really a lot to go on. That being said, the rumors of a space black iPhone have been persistent and like they say, when there’s smoke, there’s fire. We have also heard rumors that a blue finish could be offered but we haven’t really seen anything so far.

Take this information with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think of a space black iPhone? Would you like to see Apple return to a darker shade? Or are you happy with the current offerings?
