dropped_iphoneWe’ve all seen it happen or it has happened to us, where dropping our phone from the height of a desk can sometimes result in a chipped edge or even a cracked screen, which is why if you hear about a phone dropping from a height of 2,500 feet, chances are you’ve already written it off as damaged beyond repair.

However this wasn’t the case for a woman in Canada who accidentally dropped her phone out of a plane. According to a report from the Abbotsford News, the woman in question Jeannine Buck was taking photos while riding in a Cessna when she dropped her phone out of the plane. Buck told the publication, “My first thought was: ‘What? Did that really just happen?”

Now like we said, many of us would have written it off as damaged and gone for good, but Buck decided to try her luck anyway with the Find My iPhone feature where she eventually stumbled across her phone where it suffered minor damages (see photo above and on her Facebook page), but otherwise it seemed to be in working condition.

Buck said prior to this, her friend had warned her about getting her phone too close to the window. “I had no idea the wind would grab it from my hand. Lesson learned for sure. I won’t be taking pictures on a plane beside an open window ever again, that’s for certain!”
