nexus-9-review-6According to a recent report, word on the street has it that Google has a Pixel 3 laptop in the works that will run on Andromeda, Google’s rumored merger of both its Android and Chrome OS platforms. Now according to a new report from 9to5Google, they claim to be able to “confirm” the rumor of the device, but they are also saying that the Pixel 3 won’t be alone.

The report claims that Google has another Andromeda device in the works in the form of a Huawei Nexus tablet. Now this is a bit odd as we had previously thought that Google could be dropping the Nexus branding. 9to5Google says that they can’t be 100% certain of the branding, but for now it does seem to be the case.

In fact there has been some evidence of this tablet being in the works. A couple of weeks ago, famed leakster Evan Blass tweeted that Huawei and Google could be making a tablet, and thanks to this new report, it’s all starting to make sense. It also makes sense that Google is testing Andromeda on the Nexus 9, presumably to see how it would run on tablets.

In case you’re unfamiliar, Andromeda is a project that Google is working on that will see the company fold Chrome OS into Android, thus creating a unified platform that runs on mobile devices and computers. Google is expected to officially unveil the project at their 4th of October event, but its launch is only scheduled for 2017, so it looks like we’ll have some waiting to do.
