One of the ways that music streaming platforms have been trying to set themselves apart from each other is through exclusives. What this means is that these platforms will get certain artists to release on their platform first before releasing on others. In Apple’s case, they are also using video exclusives as a means to entice their customers.

The company has recently posted a teaser video for the upcoming Apple Music exclusive documentary, ‘808’. This is a documentary that is about the history of the Roland TR-808 drum machine, which is probably one of the more classic musical “instruments” in modern times that helped lead to the creation of electronic music.

The documentary was actually shown at the SXSW Film Festival in 2015, but in case you missed it or weren’t in attendance, then we guess the good news is that you’ll now be able to catch it on Apple Music when it is officially released on the 9th of December. The documentary can also be bought or rented via iTunes on the 19th of December in case you have no desire to be subscribed to Apple Music.

It does look like a pretty interesting documentary and for history buffs and music aficionado, it certainly sounds like something you won’t want to miss out on.
