When watchmakers introduced watches powered by batteries, it represented a great step forward in technology as it meant that users would not need to keep winding their watches. This was later improved through watches with kinetic energy where the movement and swing from your arms would be enough to keep the watch running.

However those were regular watches, but what about smartwatches? For those who are tired of their smartwatches requiring constant charging, you’ll have to look no further than the Matrix PowerWatch, a smartwatch that is powered by your body heat which means that unless for some reason you’re not giving off any heat, you will no longer have to charge the device.

According to its creators, “The PowerWatch runs off your body heat and when you take it off, your data is stored in memory and it goes to sleep; put it back on and the watch turns back on right where you left it. It’s got a power meter that tells you how much electricity your body heat is producing.”

As for features, the Matrix PowerWatch does pretty much what other smartwatches do. It can track your calories, it can sync to smartphones, automatically adjust to time zones, track your activity, sleep, and can even be used for swimming thanks to its water resistance. It is also made from aircraft-grade aluminum and we have to say it looks pretty sleek. If you think this is a smartwatch you’d like to get your hands on, then do hit up its Indiegogo page and pledge your support.
