android nougatBack in November, OnePlus said that they would be releasing the Android 7.0 Nougat update for both the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T in December, and also promised that they would be available by the end of the year. Call it cutting it close or whatever you want to call it, but it looks like OnePlus has kept to their word.

In a series of tweets by the company’s co-founder, Carl Pei, it seems that OnePlus will begin the gradual rollout of the stable build for Android Nougat for both phones tonight. Like we said it is cutting it pretty close and we’re pretty sure that not all users will be able to update to Nougat by the end of 2016, but we guess it’s a good way to end the year, and also a pretty decent way to bring in the new year.

There have also been new posts on both the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T forums. Both posts are identical and basically tell users what kind of changes they can expect in OxygenOS 4.0. This includes new notification design, a new settings menu design, multi-window view, and more along with the rest of whatever else Nougat brings to the table (save for some features which are exclusive to the Google Pixel handsets).
