It’s not common for Android devices to get more than two major OS updates. So when a device is released, it will only be supported for two major OS updates in most cases. There have been deviations from the norm in a few cases but the two year cutoff is more or less the norm in the industry. You can imagine how happy OnePlus would have made its customers when […]
Google and its OEM partners promise two years of major Android platform upgrades for smartphones. The handsets also get an additional year of security updates but it’s very uncommon for a device to get more than two major updates. OnePlus wants its devices to be the exception here which is why the company has now confirmed that the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T will both receive the Android P update.
Due to the sheer amount of phones that some Android OEMs put out, sometimes you can’t really blame them for choosing to focus on their new devices when it comes to updates and new features, and with that being said, you really have to commend OnePlus on the fact that they aren’t completely neglecting some of their older phones.
OnePlus has started the incremental roll-out of OxygenOS 5.0. What that means is that the company has released the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T Android 8.0 Oreo update. This is the first official Oreo build for these handsets. It was only a couple of months ago when the Oreo beta was released for OnePlus 3. The beta was rolled out to a limited number of users so this public release […]
Google launched Android 8.0 Oreo a couple of months ago but there aren’t a lot of handsets out there that have received this update. OEMs will take a few months to get the update ready for some of their handsets and the update will then be released. OnePlus is also in the process of doing this. The company has now made the Android 8.0 Oreo beta available for the OnePlus […]
