Samsung’s Galaxy A (2016) Series To Get Android 7.0 Nougat Update

galaxy-a5-selfieWhen it comes to getting the latest Android update, the sad reality is that most OEMs will typically choose to focus on their flagship phones, maybe last year’s model, and if we’re lucky, last last year’s model. However the good news for anyone who bought Samsung’s Galaxy A series of handsets this year is that you guys won’t be left behind.

According to a report from SamMobile, they have heard from their sources that Samsung will be updating the entire Galaxy A (2016) lineup to Android 7.0 Nougat. They are not sure when this update will happen, and whether or not it will happen at once or in stages, but basically all of the 2016 Galaxy A devices will receive the Nougat update.

This means that the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, Galaxy A7, Galaxy A8, Galaxy A9 and Galaxy A9 Pro should be able to expect the update in the near future, but given that we’re almost towards the end of 2016, there’s a good chance that the majority will probably only see the update in 2017 pending carrier approval in some cases.

Now to be fair, Samsung has previously updated their mid-range models to the latest build of Android before, but we haven’t heard any confirmation about that this year, so it’s good to hear that there’s a good chance that the Galaxy A (2016) lineup will not be forgotten about.
