sonos-play5The point of an alarm is to remind you about certain things, like when food is done baking, or to remind you that you have an appointment, or to wake you up. If these basic functions fail, then there really is no point for an alarm to begin with, right? Unfortunately this failing seem to be happening to some Sonos users.

In a report from Engadget, in which one of their editors was affected by this bug, it seems that there have been quite a few complaints from Sonos users that their alarms are waking them up a full day before their scheduled alarm. This means if you were to set an alarm from Sunday morning, you might be woken up via the alarm on Saturday instead.

According to a post in the Sonos forums, “As of this morning, there is currently an issue with Sonos alarms unable to be turned off. We’re working on getting this resolved, but for now, any alarm scheduled to include Saturday the 31st will start playing immediately and cannot be stopped unless disabled again. We’re sorry for the trouble and our teams are hard at work to resolve this. We’ll post updates here as soon they become available.”

They also provided a temporary solution which says, “In the meantime, if you have an alarm set for tomorrow that is going off and can’t be stopped, you’ll want to go into your Sonos controller and select Alarms. Then, disable any alarms scheduled daily or including Saturday. If disabling the alarms doesn’t do it, deleting the alarm will.”
