nintendo-switchHere’s a question for you guys: how many of you are planning on picking up the Nintendo Switch upon its release? Do let us know in the comments below! That being said, in the meantime a new survey carried out in Japan has revealed some interesting statistics which we’re not sure if it bodes well for the company.

According to the survey posted by Japanese research and news website Sirabee (via DualShockers), it has been revealed that an average of 10.7% of Japanese gamers say that they are planning on purchasing the Nintendo Switch upon its release. While the overall percentage seems a bit low, when split by age and gender, the numbers are a bit more encouraging.

For example those in their 20s and 30s are at 18.9% and 17.5% respectively for guys, and 15.2% and 14.4% for girls. These numbers start to drop as the age increases, although interestingly enough the number of people interested in the Switch is higher in the 50s age group compared to those in their 40s and 60s.

That being said 10.7% isn’t particularly encouraging, and it also seems to be different from what we’ve been hearing, which is that pre-orders of the Switch in Japan are at 80% of initial shipments, but who knows? Maybe if the console is launched to positive reviews the numbers will go up, so we guess we’ll have to wait and see.
