google_play_musicAccording to a report from Android Police, it seems that for the past few months Google has been testing out a new feature for Google Play Music. This feature allows users to set an option in which they are able to automatically resume the playback of the last song they were playing whenever the app is launched.

If you do enjoy picking up where you left off, this will no doubt come in handy as it will save you time from having to search for the song again, or in some cases you might even forget about it. However as Android Police notes, this feature seems to be a server-side enabled feature meaning that there is no action required from the user, and it also means that Google can turn it on or off whenever they feel like it.

Some users are reporting that they saw it a month ago but don’t see it now, and vice versa, so it’s safe to conclude that this is a feature that Google is currently testing out before they roll it out in earnest. It’s not exactly the most groundbreaking of features, but like we said it seems to be more of a quality of life improvement.

There is no word on when Google plans on rolling it out for everyone, so in the meantime we’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled. In the meantime have any of our readers been seeing this option appear for them?
