Microsoft today announced its new initiative aimed at simplifying Windows 10 security. The company confirms that it’s going to introduce a new experience with the Windows 10 Creators Update called the Windows “Defender Security Center.” It will make it easier for users to view and control the security protections they choose and better understand the security features protecting them on their Windows 10-powered machine.

The Windows Defender Security Center has five pillars that give users control over their device security, health, and online safety experiences. It provides a fresh view of antivirus protection with data pulled from Windows Defender Antivirus or one of the many different antivirus software developed by its ecosystem partners.

It’s also going to provide users with a single view of their latest Windows drivers, updates, battery life, and storage capacity. The Refresh Windows option will enable them to easily do a clean install of Window.

Firewall and network protection pillar does what the name suggests while app and browser control will let users adjust settings for SmartScreen apps. Family options will help them access information about parental controls, options for setting up good screen time habits, configuring an activity report of the kids’ online activity, and more.

Microsoft says that its goal with the new Windows Defender Security Center is to help users be more informed and make device security simpler. Windows Insiders can already explore this experience right now under the All Apps section in the start menu. Everyone else will have to wait until the Creators Update is released in a couple of months.
