Back at E3 2016 last year, Sony took the wraps off the next installment in the God of War franchise. However in case you missed the announcement, the game will not be a continuation of the previous titles, but will act as a reboot of the franchise and will actually see Kratos fighting alongside his young son.

So far the trailers and gameplay previews have shown a lot of promise, but if there’s one thing missing is the date of the game’s release. The good news for fans is that if you were looking forward to playing it, you might be pleased to learn that there’s a possibility that the new God of War could be released in 2017. This is according to the Twitter profile of actor/voice actor Christopher Judge who will be voicing Kratos in the new game.

As you can see in the screenshot, Judge lists God of War (2017) as part of his resume, which some have taken to indicate that the game will be released this year. Sony has yet to make any kind of official announcement so this should be taken with a grain of salt for now, although we guess it wouldn’t really that much of a stretch to think that it will.

Maybe we’ll learn more at E3 2017 later this year, but either way check back with us in the coming months to see if there are more details to be had.
