More often than not, video games have pretty good storylines and given the various cutscenes we see during the game, it’s not hard to imagine that some of these storylines could easily be turned into a movie. Unfortunately if you were hoping for a God of War movie, you might be disappointed to learn that will not be happening.

This is according to a report from the New York Times in which they shared a quote from a Sony spokesperson who denied that the company was working on a God of War TV show or movie. There have been rumors that Sony could be interested in it, and it makes sense because like we said, the storyline does seem to be perfect for a TV series or a movie.

In fact, the launch of the previous God of War title that introduced the character’s young son and showed the complexities of trying to raise a child while fighting monsters, it gave the character and game more depth that frankly speaking, would be perfect to explore in a TV series or movie format.

Fans who have championed the movie over the years have shared their ideas on who could successfully pull off the portrayal of Kratos, but that’s just a lot of wishful thinking. That being said, this denial doesn’t mean that Sony will never make a God of War movie or TV series, it’s just that at least for now, don’t hold your breath.
