In case the standard selection of Xbox One controllers weren’t good enough for you, and you’re not willing to drop money on the Elite controller, not to worry as Microsoft has announced a new controller in the form of the Recon Tech Special Edition that will be the first in the Wireless Controller Tech series lineup.

According to Microsoft, it seems that the inspiration for this particular controller and its design came from the military. It will feature a laser-etched gray front with some gold accents and insignia, and there will also be textured diamond-shaped rubberized grips on the back that should make holding it more secure in your hands.

The controller will also come with improved wireless range and Bluetooth Tech for Windows 10 and Samsung VR gaming, and it can also be customized in terms of mapping the buttons through the Xbox Accessories App, so if you’d like to shift certain things around, you’ll be able to do that with this controller.

The best part is that the Xbox Recon Tech Special Edition controller won’t cost you an arm and a leg, unlike the Elite which is admittedly rather pricey. It will cost $70 which is more or less the price of standard controllers and is expected to begin shipping worldwide come April 25th.
