It hasn’t been long since LG unveiled its new flagship smartphone called the LG G6. The company predictably prioritized the release for its home market of South Korea first where the handset has been available for a few weeks now. The company today announced that the LG G6 international release is now underway which means that prospective customers in markets across the globe will now be able to pick it up.

LG is going to commence shipments of the LG G6 to several key markets this week, including the likes of North America and Europe. Markets like Asia, Central and South Americas will receive the new flagship over the next few weeks. The LG G6 is going to be available more almost 200 carriers and operators across the globe.

“The initial reaction and feedback to the G6 has exceeded our expectations by far,” said Juno Cho, who is the president of LG’s mobile division. He added that the company had a lot of ground to make up with the G series and it used what it learned from customers in the past year to deliver a product that they will truly like.

Initial reviews of the LG G6 have been positive and show that the company has really pushed itself to make a device that can hold its own against rivals. It remains to be seen, though, just how well it compete against the Galaxy S8.
