According to the rumors, one of the popular consensus is that Apple will release three iPhones this year: the iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus, and the iPhone 8 (or iPhone Edition). However according to a new report from Micgadget (via MacRumors), they are now claiming that Apple will only launch two iPhones this year.

The report reads, “Some our friends from Foxconn confirmed that Foxconn received an order for two new models. It’s mean that Apple will be released two, not three models.” They add, “But rumors say that Apple will be released two iPhone 7S and one iPhone 8 (or iPhone Edition) models. Today we can tell you , that it’s not true. In this fall we can see only two models with new technology.”

Now this isn’t to say that they are wrong and that the previous rumors are right. After all these are all rumors for now, but as MacRumors points out, Micgadget doesn’t exactly have the most stellar track record when it comes to Apple rumors. Not to mention the report goes against more reputable sources like KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and also Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

In any case these are all rumors for now so they’re still best taken with a grain of salt, but what do you guys think? Could Apple stick to launching only two iPhones this year, or do you agree with the earlier rumors that we can expect to see three new models?
