Chinese electronics company Xiaomi is known for offering affordable products even if it has to make do with slim margins to offer its products at attractive price points. One such example is the new Mi VR Play 2 virtual reality headset that the company has launched today. It’s a successor of the original Xiaomi Mi VR Play headset and has been priced at just 99 yuan which is around $14.

Not a lot has changed if you compare the original headset and the Mi VR Play 2 but Xiaomi has made a number of improvements that’s going to make quite a bit of difference to those who pick up the headset.

The improvements are focused on comfort. Xiaomi has made the new virtual reality headset out of an improved material so that it’s more comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. It also happens to be lighter than its predecessor and strategically placed holes will ensure that it’s better at cooling as well.

This is a great option for those who would like to use an affordable virtual reality headset to watch VR and 360-degree videos without having to spend too much money. Xiaomi is going to start selling the Mi VR Play 2 headset in China from April 19th for 99 yuan or $14.
