CD Projekt Red’s RPG “The Witcher” is probably one of the more beloved RPGs in modern times, and with the trilogy concluded and there being no plans for a The Witcher 4, this means that gamers are pretty much out of content, or are they? For fans of the franchise, fret not because the next best thing is coming.

In a recent announcement, it seems that Netflix will be developing and producing a TV series based on The Witcher Saga. For those unfamiliar, these are a series of books written by Andrzej Sapkowski which actually inspired the video game, so while it might be different from the actual game, we guess it is still related.

In the press release, Sapkowski said,  “I’m thrilled that Netflix will be doing an adaptation of my stories, staying true to the source material and the themes that I have spent over thirty years writing. I’m excited about our efforts together, as well as the team assembled to shepherd these characters to life.” Sapkowski will be serving as a creative consultant on the series.

As to who will be starring in it or when it will be released remains to be seen, but hopefully we’ll get those details in the near future. In the meantime while CD Projekt Red has no plans for a new The Witcher game, they’re not completely closed to the idea in the future and are “thinking about it”.
