We have heard rumors that Amazon is working on a new Echo device that could feature a touchscreen display. In fact not too long ago renders of the device made their way online, and it looks like we might not have to wait much longer because according to a report from The Wall Street Journal, the device could be announced tomorrow.

The report claims that Amazon could be announcing its new Echo device as early as tomorrow, putting to bed all the rumors and speculation surrounding it. In case you’re hearing about this for the first time, Amazon is said to have been working on a new Echo with a touchscreen display, thus allowing users to interact with the device via touch in addition to being able to control it using their voice.

It also seems that in addition to being able to do what the previous Echo devices can do, the new Echo is said to allow users to make internet voice calls, so you could use it as a speakerphone or just a phone in general when you’re home and your other phone is charging or not in the same room.

No word on pricing but apparently it is said to be a high-end device, so expect it to cost more than Amazon’s current Echo offerings. That being said, we have to wonder how Amazon’s rivals plan to answer to this device. We know Google attempted their own take with Google Home, and Apple is also said to be working on something similar for Siri, but we guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
