Last year Samsung launched the Galaxy S7 and while the handset itself was good without any question, it’s safe to say that this year’s Galaxy S8 with its near bezel-less display, sleek design, and amazing hardware that could be considered something of a game-changer for Samsung, which is why we’re not surprised at it success.

According to Samsung’s president of mobile business Dongjin Koh, he has revealed that the Galaxy S8 is doing better compared to that of the Galaxy S7, where the 2017 flagship is apparently outselling its predecessor by as much as 15%. Koh also expressed his optimism that momentum for both the Galaxy S8 and S8+ will continue into the third and fourth quarters of the year.

Assuming this is true, this is something that Samsung can lord over the competition such as Apple, who has been experiencing a decline in iPhone sales over the past few quarters. However many expect that the iPhone 8 will help Apple to rebound, but lest we forget, Samsung has the Note 8 handset which is due for a launch towards the end of August that could possibly steal some sales from Apple.

That being said, are you surprised at the Galaxy S8’s success and how it has beaten out its predecessor, the Galaxy S7?
