Despite being initially laughed at over its design and its price tag, Apple’s AirPods have actually become quite a hit amongst consumers. Sure it is expensive, but if there is one thing many reviewers can agree on is that despite its design, for the most part it does stay in your ears, the sound quality is decent, and the pairing is pretty damn seamless.

Unfortunately it seems that supply of the AirPods is a bit constrained due to overwhelming popularity, but that’s something that Apple will be addressing. Speaking during Apple’s earnings call today, the company’s CEO Tim Cook noted that Apple is boosting production to help meet the demand for the headphones.

Cook was quoted as saying, “We have increased production capacity for AirPods and are working very hard to get them to customers as quickly as we can, but we are still not able to meet the strong level of demand.” It is unclear as to why there is a shortage of AirPods at the moment, so we can only speculate it could be due to the strong demand for them.

Alternatively it could also be due to the rumored production problems that caused their launch to be delayed in the first place, but we can’t say for sure, but either way these headphones are pretty popular to the point where some think that it has the potential to do much better than other Apple products like the Apple Watch.
