Xiaomi will soon unveil the successor to its popular Mi Mix handset. The company has confirmed that it’s going to conduct an event on September 11th to unveil the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. A lot of reports have surfaced online so far with information about the upcoming handset. The latest leak brings us some purported images of the handset itself.

Word on the street is that the Mi Mix 2 is going to have flagship-level specifications. It’s reportedly going to tout a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

Some reports suggest that the as yet unannounced Snapdragon 836 might power the handset. The Mi Mix 2’s crown jewel is believed to be its bezel-less 6.2-inch AMOLED 2960×1440 pixel resolution display. It may also feature a 4,500mAh battery.

The purported Mi Mix 2 images that have been leaked online play up the bezel-less nature of this device. Xiaomi really pushed the boundary on this last year with the original handset and the successor is believed to have an even greater screen-to-body ratio than the original Mi Mix.

None of this has been officially confirmed by Xiaomi as yet so take it with a grain of salt. The company will unveil the Mi Mix 2 officially at an event in China on September 11th.
