In the mobile front, Sony has been somewhat quiet as of late, but it seems that the company is still working on smartphones, and the company’s next flagship’s specs have allegedly leaked online.

According to the rumors, it seems that Sony’s next-gen flagship will finally see the company embrace a different design. For the most part, Sony’s smartphones haven’t differed too much on the design front, but that could change as the rumors are claiming that Sony will finally embrace the bezel-less design that we’re seeing so much of in recent times.

The handset in question is said to feature the model number H8541, but exactly what family of devices that will fall under is anyone’s guess. The leaked specs also reveal that the phone in question will sport a 5.7-inch 4K HDR display with Gorilla Glass 5 and a 3,420mAh battery. However what’s odd is that the handset will apparently use the Snapdragon 835 chipset.

While the Snapdragon 835 is the current flagship chipset of Qualcomm, this late into the game we would have expected Sony to go with the Snapdragon 845. However there are possible reasons behind this, such as pricing where it could be that the Snapdragon 835 could cost less than the 845, or that the rumors are true and that Samsung has first dibs on the Snapdragon 845.

In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but presumably this handset will make an appearance in 2018, either at CES or MWC.
