According to a recent rumor, it is said that for 2018’s iPhones, Apple could include a USB-C fast charger. Apple had actually included fast charging features in 2017’s iPhones, but they required that customers buy the power adapter and cable separately if they wanted to take advantage of it.

However with the bundle, it means that Apple will make it default for users moving forwards. In fact it seems that the rumors could be true because Apple has since quietly discounted its USB-C to Lightning cable down from $25 to $19. While Apple does not mention why it has been discounted, it might not be a stretch to think that it could be in anticipation of the launch of the new charger.

Another possibility is that right now Apple’s laptops have pretty much done away with USB-A ports, which means that users who want to connect their iPhones or iPads need to get an adapter that converts USB-A to USB-C, or purchase this cable. By making it more affordable it seems that Apple is hoping that more of their customers will start using it.

Either way it’ll probably still be a while before we learn more about Apple’s new iPhones, but what do you guys think? Does this discount hint at a new fast charger in the future? For those who are interested in getting their hands on the cable, you can do so via Apple’s Online Store.
