Verizon Galaxy Tab S3 Gets Oreo At Last

It has been a long wait for Galaxy Tab S3 owners in the United States who have been looking forward to get a taste of Oreo on their tablet. Samsung first released the Oreo update for this device in the United Kingdom several weeks ago and only recently started rolling out the update for users in the United States. Its carrier partners in the country will soon release it for the cellular variant as well, something which Verizon has now taken the lead on.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S3 in the United States back in the spring of last year and at that point in time, it came with Nougat out of the box. It’s still running Nougat and is finally being upgraded to Oreo.

Verizon is finally rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Galaxy Tab S3 on its network. It’s sending out software version R16NW.T827VVRU1BRD4 for the Galaxy Tab S3 in phases so it should go live for all users in the near future.

The latest firmware update for the Galaxy Tab S3 brings all of the features that are part and parcel of the Oreo update as well as the Samsung Experience 9.0 custom skin which brings the same user interface enhancements that Samsung debuted with the Galaxy S9 earlier this year.
