Bamboo Comic Pen & Touch

The Bamboo Comic Pen & Touch, also known as the CTH-461/S1, is similar to the Bamboo Fun Small where its body and pen are concerned. However, since the Bamboo Comic Pen & Touch is meant for illustrators as well as those who dabble with comics and manga, you get five dedicated software including Pixia Edition, Illust Studio Mini, Comic Studio Mini and Pencil LITE for the Windows platform, while a Mac/Windows-compatible software would be the Corel Painter Essentials 4.

T3 Notebook Of The Future

Based on a quick glance at the picture above, would you want it? It’s a design of what T3 considering the next generation portable computer, or “Netpad” as they call it. Truth be told, it looks like a tablet computer with a stand at the back to keep it upright. Granted, it looks futuristic and certainly alluring, and so we certainly wouldn’t mind seeing such a product become a reality. Will we all be ditching the keyboard a few years down the road?

Apple tablet delayed again

Apple tablet delayed again

Could the rumored Apple tablet actually end up as vaporware? Word has it that the tablet will come in a choice of either LCD or OLED displays, but bad news accompanies such nuggets of information - this would most probably push the tablet's release date back until the end of next year as Apple attempts to lower the final price. Sources point towards a $2,000 price tag even then, which is just crazy expensive for a device that runs on the iPhone OS (although that might change in the future). What do you think - is the Apple tablet a viable device?

Wired To Cater For Apple Tablet

Talk about the allure of the rumored Apple Tablet. While Apple hasn’t confirmed whether it’s working on such a device or not, the folks at Wired magazine are already taking steps to keep ahead of the competition by preparing a digital version of it’s magazine for upcoming tablets. While tablets getting popular, they’re still nowhere near the level of popularity that netbooks enjoy at this current time, will an Apple tablet change the scene like how the iPhone did? We’ll have hope that the rumors of the Apple Tablet are true, and wait, won’t we?

DigitalRise PC-729 tablet

The DigitalRise PC-729 tablet offers a refreshing look at the tablet market, since it comes with a 7" touchscreen display, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, all powered by an ARM9 processor. One major drawback would be its 128MB RAM which by today's standards, doesn't seem to cut the mustard any more, while its 7" touchscreen display has a relatively low resolution of just 480 x 272 pixels. Would those apparent setbacks cause you to fork out $355 for the DigitalRise PC-729?

Innovative Converged Devices roll out Vega

Innovative Converged Devices, also known as ICD in short, has announced their very own tablet known as VEGA, where it will come in sizes ranging from 7" to 11" and 15", boasting a simple yet svelte design. Armed with a Tegra processor within, you can tell that this is not going to be a slouch when it comes to graphical performance, although the presence of a resistive touchscreen might turn some people off. It is capable of doing everything that Android OS offers, although the lack of a built-in GPS sensor would practically rule out Google Navigation. No idea on pricing or availability though, but CES 2010 would be a good bet as to an official announcement.

BoEye Android Powered Tablet

The BoEye MID700 looks a little bit like a giant iPhone from China, which isn’t such a bad thing. It’s powered by Google’s Android, and has a front facing camera, sleek design, and should set you back about $300. Might this device also be a rival to Amazon’s Kindle?

Adesun's latest AD-708 tablet will be based on the x86 architecture with Windows XP as the operating system of choice. This 7" device will play nice with Windows Vista and Linux OS as well if that's your cup of tea, although it would surely be pushing the processor to its limits. Dell Mini 9 gets accelerometer

Looks like the highly customizable Dell Mini 9 gets another uncertified feather in its cap with news of a mod that involves a built-in accelerometer to enhance the touchscreen-enabled Dell Mini 9. At least you won't have to wait for the rumored Apple Tablet before you have fun with this mod.

Witstech A81 tablet

Here's another tablet that might just pique your interest if you're into devices like these - the Witstech A81 tablet. No idea on pricing, but a range of $200 to $250 has been bandied about alongside a future Android build.

Apple Slate tablet mentioned by NY Times, creates new wave of rumors

Posted on October 26, 2009 9:12 AM

Bill Keller of the NY Times has dropped the bomb by mentioning the upcoming Apple Slate tablet computer. Here's what he says in his speech to the digital group at the New York Times:

Sixth, we need to figure out the right journalistic product to deliver to mobile platforms. I’m hoping we can get the newsroom more actively involved in delivering our best journalistic product..
… times reader, iPhone apps, impending apple slate or whatever comes after that.

The video is in the full post. Now, remember that it doesn't mean that Bill Keller has inside information or has unintentionally pre-announced a product. He might just be expecting Apple to launch such a device soon. In the past, the NY Times has been one of the few outlets to have an early access to Apple's products, and if such a tablet was to exist, you can bet that Apple is talking to media partners right now - including the NYT, to figure out how to make it economically viable for the newspapers. Dell Latitude XT2 XFR goes rugged

Novatel's FCC filing points toward a rugged Dell Latitude XT2 XFR that will probably be the first rugged tablet from the company to date. It will share the same button layout as with the XT2, although this one comes with thick rubber bumpers on the sides to help shield it from shocks or drops, alongside a thicker monitor hinge for that added touch of quality. The trackpad remains accessible even when the XT2 XFR is in tablet mode. No idea on how much this will cost though, but it is nice to see Dell diversifying their range of machines.

Shenzen P88 tablet

The Apple tablet has been rumored for a long time now, and even the recent introduction of revamped Macs, a new Magic Mouse and the Apple Remote failed to yield additional clues towards a potential Apple tablet. Never mind, says Shenzen of China who are extremely forward looking that they have already rolled out the P88 tablet that is a future Apple tablet clone, coming with a 10.2" touchscreen display at 1,024 x 600 resolution. Looks like it runs on Windows XP though, making it easier for you to guess just what kind of innards it carries.

Dell Mini 9 Slate Tablet Mod

Dell Mini 9 Slate Tablet Mod

Kudos to Rob928 for coming up with the first publicized Dell Mini 9 slate tablet mod in the world, where it relied on a Vostro A90, a Honda Fun and Easy touchscreen kit alongside a whole lot of love and patience. This ain't no multi-touch display though, which means you might want to be a bit more careful when using it so as not to carelessly rest your palm on the display. It will also heat up when in use, reaching temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius, so you might want to be a bit more careful there.

Lbook T9 tablet

Lbook T9 tablet

Could the tablet computer market actually mature this time round? After all, with Apple entering the fray, things could really heat up. There is a new model in town - the Lbook T9 that will retail for no more than $375, where it boasts an 8.9" display at 1,024 x 600 resolution, 2GB RAM, a 120GB hard drive, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity as well as an Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz processor driving the machine forward. You can choose to opt for a 3G module within if staying connected at all costs is your priority. Out sometime in March next year, the Lbook T9 will probably ship with Windows 7. We think that's too long to wait as the specifications would surely no be as up to date as before.

Gateway EC18T leaked

Gateway's EC18T tablet PC has just been leaked, where this puppy doesn't seem to be a slouch when it comes to performance by offering an Intel Core 2 Duo processor while being able to accommodate up to 4GB RAM, accompanied by a Mobile Intel GS45 Express graphics chipset, an 11.6" display and the choice of either Windows 7 Home Premium or Basic as its operating system. There is no word on pricing or availability, but it does look sweet enough to warrant a closer look when available.

Publishers Eyeing Apple Tablet

Publishers Eyeing Apple Tablet

After Apple’s amazing success with the iPhone, it’s no surprise to hear rumors of an Apple tablet, which has been going around for some time now. It does seem that there is some credibility to the whole thing, especially since latest reports state that a group led by Time Inc. is looking to come up with a digital store for magazines and sell their content in digital format. With the success the iPhone has had, it’s not surprise that publishers are drooling over Amazon’s Kindle and the rumored Apple Tablet. In the latest reports, it seems that Apple isn’t too happy with the approach that the publishers want to take, which shouldn’t be too surprising to anybody, especially since Apple is well known for doing things their way. It will certainly be interesting to see what kind of tablet device Apple will come up with, and how it will affect the market.

Contact Tracking and Identification Module for Touch Sensing

One of Apple's patents have surfaced, where it will feature a technology known as "Contact Tracking and Identification Module for Touch Sensing", making it seem as though it will be an extension of the exiting Multi-Touch system, albeit one will see integrated elements from two hands instead of just a few fingers. Those who find typing, pointing and scrolling functions to be old hat, this patent offers methods for 3D manipulation and handwriting which is definitely new and unheard of, bypassing the standard limitations of traditional input systems found in the market today.
