Atari 800 laptop by Ben Heck
Posted on Sep 14, 09 03:45 AM PDT

Ben Heck must be the Usain Bolt of the tech world - he seems to outdo himself with each serious effort, and not by small increments but by leaps and bounds. Take his latest mod for example - known as the Atari 800 laptop, this model actually captures the spirit of the original machine, boasting its classic case color while featuring an actual Atari 800 keyboard. He also paid attention to important yet small details such as the front-mounted cartridge slot, retaining the flat Reset/Start/Select/Option buttons in their original color. You get modern processing power within, where the XEGS motherboard is accompanied by a 2.5" PATA hard drive and the machine can play classic Atari 800 titles.
