Netgear, a world leader when it comes to networking products, is back with a bang by offering a couple of next-generation HomePlug AV-certified powerline kits in the form of the compact Powerline AV 500 Adapter Kit (XAVB5001) and the Powerline AV+ 500 Adapter Kit (XAVB5501) which comes with a filtered “pass-through” power socket. You will be able to enjoy a virtually lag-free network with speeds of up to 500 Mbps (theoretical, of course), whole-home coverage as well as groundbreaking throughput thanks to these new powerline kits. They are backwards compatible with other HomePlug AV products from Netgear, but you will need to wait till Q3 to see these hit stores. There is no word on pricing just yet, either. [Press Release]
