Solar-powered Tuk-tuk For Bangkok

If you’ve been to Thailand before, you’ll definitely have seen those motorized rickshaws, known as tuk-tuks. While it’s a cheap and convenient way to travel, it does contribute to the pollution level in the country. Now a more eco-friendly design has surfaced, which is a solar-powered version of an electric tuk-tuk. This electric vehicle is capable of running up to 60kph and can travel for 80km on a three-hour battery charge. It’ll cost about 320,000 baht ($10,000), while the conventional tuk-tuks will cost about 180,000 baht ($5,550). The designer is hoping that government subsidies would make this vehicle more affordable.
