Nokia X3 offers touchscreen for entry level handset

Nokia has decided that touchscreen displays are not meant for high end phones only, as evident by the release of the Nokia X3. This device will complement its 2.4″ QVGA touchscreen display with a traditional 12-button keypad, making it the first of its kind from Nokia to deliver such a combination. Despite carrying double the controls, the X3 Touch and Type as it is formally known is one of Nokia’s thinnest devices, measuring just 9.6mm deep. It will come with a brushed aluminium finish as well as five different colors to choose from, but business folk might not warm up to it at all if they want something more professional. Specifications ain’t too shabby either, with four bands support for voice, 3G, HSPA and WiFi for data, a music player and an integrated FM radio, a 5-megapixel camera with 4X digital zoom and a Communities app that lets you remain in touch with friends over your social networks thanks to Twitter and Facebook. Expect it to be a mobile entertainment device as well with a microSD memory card slot bringing the grand total of internal memory up to 16GB. Expect the Nokia X3 to hit the market for €125 a pop before taxes and subsidies.
