
The writing was on the wall some time back, but it’s still interesting to see it spelt out in terms of statistics. Reports are in that Microsoft’s Windows 7 has finally managed to overtake Windows Vista in terms of market share, in just 10 months after the operating system’s release. As it currently stands, Windows 7 has 15.83% market share, while Windows Vista has 14.34% market share. That being said, it’s still a long way off from Windows XP which holds 61.87% market share, but is obviously in the decline. Windows 7 became Microsoft’s fastest selling OS back in June when it passed the 150 million sales figure mark, and continues to be going strong.
