Windows 7 Overtakes Vista In Market Share

The writing was on the wall some time back, but it’s still interesting to see it spelt out in terms of statistics. Reports are in that Microsoft’s Windows 7 has finally managed to overtake Windows Vista in terms of market share, in just 10 months after the operating system’s release. As it currently stands, Windows 7 has 15.83% market share, while Windows Vista has 14.34% market share. That being said, it’s still a long way off from Windows XP which holds 61.87% market share, but is obviously in the decline. Windows 7 became Microsoft’s fastest selling OS back in June when it passed the 150 million sales figure mark, and continues to be going strong.
