As part of the 25th-anniversary celebrations for the franchise, Ubisoft is offering Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier for free to PC players for a limited time. The title can be claimed via the Ubisoft Connect platform and added permanently to the user’s game library. The promotion runs until August 13.
Originally released in 2012 for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, Future Soldier places players in control of an elite squad of soldiers undertaking high-risk missions globally to eliminate high-priority targets. The gameplay combines third-person shooting, stealth mechanics, and tactical squad coordination. Players utilize advanced technology, including reconnaissance drones, optical camouflage, and target-marking systems, to plan and execute strategic engagements.
A key feature of the game is its detailed “Gunsmith” weapon customization system. This mechanic allows players to modify specific firearm components—such as optics, triggers, magazines, and barrels—to suit different tactical approaches for each objective.
While the free claim grants access to the full base game, online multiplayer features are no longer functional. Ubisoft previously decommissioned the title’s servers, leaving the single-player narrative campaign as the primary accessible game mode.
To claim the game, users must log into their Ubisoft account on the official promotion page and complete the redemption process. Downloading and running the game requires the Ubisoft Connect desktop application.
