Everyone knows that you more or less get what you pay for, and in the case of headphones, a good pair of Hi-Fi headphones would normally set you back anywhere from $300 to $500. Stacy has a great love for her music collection, and intends to enjoy them without forking out such money by discovering a method to “upgrade” her pair of knock-off headphones to near-audiophile quality without breaking the bank – we’re talking about a price point of less than $50. According to Stacy, the orthodynamic drivers used would be able to deliver superior sound thanks to the placement of voice coils, hence getting a $30 pair of orthodynamic drivers that are fitted into a standard pair of headphones literally paid off. It does take a fair bit of insulation and supporting plastic to make sure everything runs fine and dandy afterwards, so those who are willing to give the DIY solution a go can check it out.
