Fancy building a LOL Shield for yourself? Wait a minute here, just what the heck is a LOL Shield? Is it something that is supposed to prevent others from laughing out loud at you in the virtual world? Not really, as LOL here stands for Lots Of LEDs, hence the LOL Shield Kit gets an explanation by Sylvia in the video right after the jump.

Of course, to get the LOL Shield up and running, you will need the LOL Shield Kit from the Maker Shed, get a soldering iron and some solder ready on hand (not to mention a steady hand to make sure the soldering process does not go awry), an Arduino, a PC nearby, a USB cable as well as wire snips.

It is also good advice to make sure you have a vise nearby, and with 133 little LEDs lying around, it would be best if you are a neat person at heart (and in practice). Enjoy this little DIY project which should keep you busy over the coming weekend!
