You know how mad some players can get when it comes to Dance Dance Revolution, that they play a couple of games simultaneously by moving all over the sensor pads like magic? Well, robots can dance, too, but don’t expect them to do as well as a human, of course. A student at Purdue University whom you can check out in the video after the jump has come up with a rigged DARwIn-OP robot to enjoy an oil-filled (robots sweat oil, don’t they?) game of Dance Dance Revolution (DDR). This game will require the robot to study the game’s screen, followed by making the right steps on a pressure-sensitive dance pad.

Those who do not know what DDR is, this game will show off a stream of directional arrows that correspond to the four pads on the gaming mad, where you are to step on them in tandem at the right timing. Sometimes, the combinations might require more than one pressure pad to be stepped upon to make the game more challenging.

Since DARwIn-OP is small in size, it makes sense that it has to have a specially made dance pad to correspond with its stature, not to mention strapping its arms to a handlebar with velcro to assist it in balancing.
