Minecraft fans out there, some of you guys might have been excited when Minecraft for the Xbox 360 was announced back in E3, and we’re sure that there are plenty of you guys out there who may have been hoping that it would also make its way over onto other consoles, such as the PlayStation 3 or the Nintendo Wii.

Well, sorry to burst your bubble but it looks like Minecraft for console will only be available for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and will be available on Xbox Live in the Spring of 2012, and it appears to be an exclusive deal as well. This was confirmed by Minecraft’s very own Markus “Notch” Persson on his Twitter account. We’re guessing this piece of news will be disappointing for Minecraft fans who own a PlayStation 3 or Nintendo Wii, but hey, there’s always the PC version to fall back on, right?

In the meantime, for those on the Xbox 360 and who may have forgotten what they will be getting, check out the trailer video for Minecraft for consoles below.
