So just last week we reported on the Cukui wooden backplate for the iPhone 4/4S, and if you enjoyed the natural look/finish that wood has on your iOS device, you might want to take a look at this wooden smart cover by Etsy seller D. Fauber Woodsmith that are available for both Apple’s iPad 2.

These wooden “smart covers” for the iPad 2 are available in a variety of woods. Buyers will be able to choose from mahogany, cherry, walnut, bubinga and lacewood just to name a few. These covers will also feature a distressed leather lining which supposedly will help to prevent scratches on your iPad 2’s screen.

While we haven’t actually used these wooden “smart covers” for ourselves, admittedly they do look pretty good and add a touch of class to the whole affair. They are priced somewhere in the $80 range, depending on your choice of wood, so if you’re interested in picking up one for yourself, head on over to D. Fauber Woodsmith’s Etsy page to place your order or to check it out for yourselves.
