iOS '86If you’ve ever wondered what iOS would look like if the iPhone was released back in 1986 instead of 2007, you’re in luck. A designer named Anton Repponen decided to give the mobile operating system, a makeover by redesigning the phone’s homescreen and its icons, making it look as though it belongs in the past. It is appropriately called iOS ’86; everything is in black and white, edges of pixels are clearly visible and the classic Chicago bitmap font is present. It would definitely look great as a theme for iOS – now if only Apple would officially support themes on their iOS devices. No word on whether Anton Repponen will be releasing the graphics to the public, but I’m pretty sure theme designers now are inspired to do something similar in the future.
