Earlier today, The Daily broke the news about Microsoft Office for the iPad and posted up a picture of what appeared to be the app running on the device. However, it looks like the image could have been faked in the first place. Here’s what a tweet from the Microsoft News Twitter account had to say, “Great respect for The Daily but regrettably someone is giving them bad info, and that’ll be clear in the “coming weeks.”"
Now we’re not sure what Microsoft means by “bad info” and the rest of its enigmatic tweet, but there are a few possibilities: damage control for an unexpected leak, the image released by The Daily was faked, or there’s no such thing as Microsoft Office for the iPad. I guess we’ll never know for sure until Microsoft comes forward with more details - so stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted.
