There have been plenty of rumors surrounding the possible release of a 4” iPhone later this year. While many were excited at the possibility of a larger screen, many did not take into account of how apps might respond to the larger display which would need to be updated in order to fit the larger screen. In the latest 4” iPhone mockup, Will Hains from Good Will Blogging has released his own concept of what a 4” iPhone could look like while keeping the same dimensions as the current generation iPhone.

As you can see in the mockup above, the result is strangely reminiscent of the Nokia Lumia 710 and essentially features a smaller home button, a longer display and incredibly fat bezels. Certainly not the prettiest mockup we’ve seen to date, but it is one of the ways (in theory) that Apple could keep the same sharpness without upsetting developers too much while offering users a larger display. Apple’s iPhone has pretty much kept to the same screen dimensions since its launch with the major change being the introduction of the Retina display for the iPhone 4.

Due to Android and Windows Phone devices getting larger by the day and breaking the 5” barrier (Samsung Galaxy Note), many have argued that Apple needs to step up and offering something radically different from its current design if they hope to retain their customers. In any case, what do you guys make of this particular rendering?
