Earlier this month, we received an announcement from Microsoft that pointed to chrome Xbox 360 controllers that are said to arrive when May 2012 rolls around. Well, May is just slightly more than a week away, and apart from the cosmetic change, the new chrome controllers will also boast of an improved D-pad for superior control compared to the past. That is for the rest of the world though, as Japan, the country that Microsoft threw plenty of money at with both Xboxes in order to gain a foothold in the gaming industry there, will be on the receiving end of another deal sweetener – that is, a coupon from Capcom that allows you to obtain Dragon’s Dogma downloadable content for free.

This value added coupon might just help push sales of such a controller in the Land of the Rising Sun, and it is rather disheartening at this point in time not to hear of something similar happening Stateside. Ah well, perhaps Microsoft will change their mind at the last minute and offer a goodie for us, too.
