Luxury car makers have put out SUVs in the past. Think Porsche Cayenne and the BMW X5, so we guess it’s not a complete surprise to have learnt that Lamborghini could be considering putting out an SUV of their own as well. The vehicle is expected to be called the Urus, a name that was previously rumored to be used for a replacement for the Aventador. Assuming the rumors have got it right, the Urus will instead be Lamborghini’s upcoming SUV and could be making an appearance at the Beijing Auto Show which will be held over the coming weekend.

The picture above is allegedly that of the Urus and it certainly looks like the designers have managed to keep the trademark Lamborghini design while merging it onto an SUV’s body. The vehicle is rumored to sport a 584 horsepower version of the Gallardo’s 10-cylinder engine under its hood and is expected to retail for around $200,000. Ouch. Given Lamborghini’s reputation for high-performance sports cars, we have to wonder how the Urus will perform and if it will live up to its Lamborghini heritage. Remember to check back with us on Monday to see if more details about the Lamborghini Urus have been made available.
