The T-Mobile G2x has finally received an update to its Android operating system – while it will not rock on to the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, at least the handset will be able to arrive at the end of its lifecycle with a degree of dignity, having received the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update at long last. This is an official update, where T-Mobile and LG have teamed up to roll out an Over-The-Air (OTA) update to the T-Mobile G2x labeled as P999-V21y. This particular OTA update will be made available to G2x owners all the way through to May 14th, and those who feel that they cannot wait for the OTA can always do it the manual way by following the relevant instructions that have been listed on T-Mobile’s support forums. For those who have already updated their T-Mobile G2x to Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, how did you find your experience so far, and are you already on the lookout for other newer Android-powered handsets? I guess this is where the adage holds true – better late than never.
