Diablo-III

After its release, the third installment of Diablo spread across the world like wildfire! Now it seems, we have received a few statistics that officially make Diablo 3 the fastest ever selling game for the PC. This news comes from Blizzard. The game was purchased more than 3.5 million times in just its first 24 hours in the market. In addition to that, there have been a further 3.5 million copies sold not including yet another 1.2 million copies that were obtained via the WoW Annual Pass which included a free copy of Diablo 3.

Blizzard apparently were not ready for the floodgates to release a mass of players amounting to that much when the company said that “more than 4.7 million gamers around the world were poised to storm Sanctuary on day 1 of Diablo 3’s release.” With regards to the issue pertaining to the massive amount of players, Blizzard CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime said, “We also regret that our preparations were not enough to ensure everyone had a seamless experience when they did so. I want to reaffirm our commitment to make sure the millions of Diablo 3 players out there have a great experience with the game moving forward, and I also want to thank them for their ongoing support.
