If you’re the type that enjoys chatting on Facebook, you’re probably aware of the Facebook Messenger app that is currently available on the iPhone along with other smartphones, but what if you wanted to chat via your iPad? Unfortunately the app for iPad has yet to be released but thanks to some leaked screenshots (via 9to5 Mac), it looks like the app is currently in the works and could be seeing a release in the near future. At the moment it looks like it’s basically a blown up version of Facebook Messenger for the iPhone but it could be changed and optimized for the iPad in the final release, assuming of course that Facebook plans to release it.

The app is expected to feature the same features as its smartphone counterpart and should allow for one-on-one chats, group chats, push notifications and the ability to see your friends on the map. If you chat on Facebook often and you’d rather not rely on the full-fledge Facebook iPad app to do the chatting, this is an app that you’ll want to keep an eye out for. It was also revealed that an updated iPhone version of Facebook Messenger is in the works and will introduce the video chat feature that is currently available on the web version of Facebook. This particular update is scheduled for a launch some time this summer.
