Apple Educates Potential Galaxy S4 Adopters Why People Love The iPhone

Samsung finally unveiled its long-awaited Galaxy S4 late last week with many mobile phone users seriously considering the device. Apple knows this and has decided to remind these potential Galaxy S4 adopters why people love the iPhone.

Apple’s iPhone 5 landing pages having been updated to read “Loving it is easy. That’s why so many people do,” which then leads to a number of reasons why the device is still considered to be quite popular. “iPhone owners love their iPhone,” the page contunes. “And not just because of the Retina display. Or the amazing camera. Or the long battery life. It’s all those things plus the fact that iPhone is just so easy to use.”

Once customers are flooded with enough of an iPhone love-fest, they can proceed to “learn more about why you’ll love and iPhone” by clicking a link to further explain “what makes an iPhone unlike anything else.”

We find it interested for Apple to take the defensive with its marketing of its iPhone just days after Samsung unveils its Galaxy S4. Hopefully its unveiling will spark something in Apple to finally reveal something truly groundbreaking and not just make an iPhone with a larger screen.

Galaxy S4: The Galaxy S4 is the current top of the line Samsung smartphone and has been rumored about since September 2012. Revealed on March 14th in New York City, the Galaxy S4 features a 13 Megapixel camera, a 2600mAh battery and 16/32/64GB of internal storage (+microSD slot). In terms of display size, Samsung has chosen a 5" 1080p (1920x1080), which puts it closer to the Galaxy Note 2. The Galaxy S4 comes in several hardware variants, some of which use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor at 1.9GHz, while others use the Samsung Exynos Octa chip at 1.6GHZ or 1.8GHZ.

iOS: was once upon a time called iPhone OS, or "operating system", which is the software that provides all the basic device functionality and is the interface between the hardware and applications. iOS was introduced with the iPhone on January 9 2007, and it was originally not intended to be programmable by third parties. Steve Jobs had envisioned that developers could create Web Apps that would run in the browser. This changed less than one year after when the iPhone SDK (software development kit) was introduced in October 2007. Today, hundreds of thousands of apps have been created for this platform. iPhone OS became iOS on June 2010. Interestingly, both iPhone and iOS were former trademarks of Cisco, that Apple now uses under a license.

iPhone: iPhone: The iPhone is Apple's line of smartphones. That was also the original name of the first iPhone, which was announced on January 9th 2007 by Steve Jobs during the Macworld Keynote. The iPhone was released to the public in June of the same year. The development of the iPhone started in 2004, was internally called "project purple" and was the fruit of a collaboration between Apple and AT&T. Since then, Apple has released new iPhone models every year, with the iPhone 3G in July 2008, the iPhone 3GS in June 2009, the iPhone 4 in June 2010, the iPhone 4S in October 2011 and the iPhone 5 in September 2012. The iPhone represented more than half of Apple's revenues in 2012.

iPhone 5: The iPhone 5 (read our iPhone 5 review) is a smartphone from Apple. It was launched on Sept 12 2012 and features a 4" display, 4G LTE, a thinner chassis and a faster A6 processor. At the time of its launch, it was obviously the best iPhone yet, but a large number of customers and observers came out very divided about its feature set. Samsung is responsible for an amazing 20% of South Korea's exports. In the consumer electronics world, Samsung has gone from being a company with a reputation for cheap products to becoming one of the most respected companies in the world.
