Both Microsoft and Sony have not made the DRM restrictions on used games for Xbox One and PS4 clear. It has been rumored that Microsoft will only allow a hand picked group of retailers where Xbox One used games can be resold. Sony has been rumored to implement Xbox One-like DRM restrictions for PS4 used games. The companies haven’t confirmed any of these rumors yet, which is the cause of increasing frustration among gamers. A new movement is being launched against DRM on these new consoles, with the manufacturers being urged to drop this idea altogether.

Microsoft and Sony will reveal additional details about their devices at the E3 conference, which takes place a little over a week from today, there’s a possibility that they might touch the subject of DRM restrictions as well. The movement that gamers are launching is a pre-emptive strike against implementation of any such restrictions on next generation consoles. Gamers will try to get the word out by tweeting with #PS4NoDRM and #XboxOneNoDRM hashtags, they’ve also been encouraged to reach out to executives through e-mail or Twitter. Hopefully their efforts will bear fruit.
