xperiazultra-caseBack in the middle of the year, Sony took the wraps off their Xperia Z Ultra smartphone. The handset featured some pretty impressive hardware, but we suppose the main selling point of the device would be its display which measures a whopping 6.44”, beating out Samsung’s Galaxy Mega 6.3. Safe to say the phone is a beast and now Sony has announced a new Power Cover CP 12 designed specifically for the Xperia Z Ultra in mind. The Power Cover CP 12 will be both a case for the phone, as well as a cover, a stand, and to top it off will be a battery pack as well.

The battery of the case is 3,000mAh which is similar to the Sony Xperia Z Ultra’s battery, meaning that it will be good for one full recharge, nothing more, nothing less, and thanks to its magnetic connector, you will be able to charge the case and the phone at the same time, so you don’t have to go through the hassle of removing the case and charging both devices separately. In fact the Power Cover CP 12 will even sport a stylus which you can use to navigate around the handset, although we’re not sure if it will come with the same level of stylus support you might find with the Galaxy Note 3. Unfortunately pricing or availability remains unknown, but if you’re looking for a multipurpose accessory for the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, this might be it.
